The Mission of Greater Memphis Greenline, Inc. is to collaborate in a public-private partnership with local government in the development of the GMG and other unused railway right-of ways and easements in Memphis and Shelby County, and to create a world-class recreational park/hiking-biking trail system. Now that the Shelby Farms Greenline is under construction, we are continuing on projects to create an integrated multi-use trail system throughout Memphis and Shelby County. We are working with MLG&W to eventually develop 400 miles of easements, negotiating with Union Pacific RR to purchase a 2-mile section near Chelsea Avenue, drawing plans for a trailhead near Scott and Broad Avenues, and promoting neighborhood bike lanes and local amenities for exsisting trails.

“The urban park greenway project is providing Shelby County Government, in partnership with the Shelby Farms Park Conservancy and the Greater Memphis Greenline, another opportunity to advance the quality of life for residents. We have forged a great team that will hit the ground running, and with public input and support, we will create another wonderful recreational amenity that provides a large portion of our urban community ready access to a world-class park."
